3. Bernard Joseph (Bernd) Wessels was born in 1802 in Lankum, Germany, he died in 1869 in Bedum. He was a carpenter, and on 20 May 1843, in Bedum,  he married with Bernardina Bernardus Pols. They had 4 children.
4. Bernard Wessels had a relationship with Anna Maria Gertrud Niedecker, born in 1764 in Bethen, Germany, she died in 1806 in Krapendorf, Germany. Bernard had admitted that the illigitimate child was his, therefore Bernard Joseph received the family name Wessels.
